My Values

Ownership over Convenience

I choose tools and services that let me stay in control of my data and infrastructure. I don’t need to reinvent the wheel—but I avoid solutions that take ownership away from me. If a tool locks me out, hides critical parts of the process, or makes me overly dependent on a managed service, for me it’s a red flag. I believe in building on solid foundations that are transparent, flexible, and respect my autonomy as a developer and architect.

Integrity through Understanding

I don’t blindly trust systems, code, or even AI—I need to understand what’s happening. If I’m shipping something, I want to be confident in the why, not just the what. I believe quality comes from comprehension, not shortcuts. That’s why I don’t settle for “it works”—I dig until I know how and why it works. This mindset shapes how I write code, evaluate tools, and teach others.

Hacker Ethos

I believe technology should empower, not control. I’ve always been drawn to the original hacker mentality—the belief that curiosity, transparency, and freedom are worth protecting. I question dominant narratives, especially when they reduce tech to surveillance or exploitation. Whether it’s defending open-source principles, pushing for ethical uses of AI, or promoting crypto beyond hype, I see software as a tool for challenging broken systems and building better ones.
